ABOUT THE POSITION

Focus on the Family Canada is looking for a passionate and experienced Product Marketing Manager to play a pivotal role in our Integrated Marketing team.  If you are a strategic thinker, thrive in a dynamic environment, and have a proven track record in product marketing and management, we want to hear from you. As our Product Marketing Manager, you will be the driving force behind our product selection, sales processes, and related promotional initiatives. Collaborating with internal teams, you'll develop and execute strategies for our online store, onsite resource centre, print and digital campaigns, and subscription-based product offerings ensuring they align with our values, resonate with our diverse audience, and meet our revenue goals.


KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Product Management & Operations:

  • Curate and manage an extensive range of products, including books, digital downloads, magazine subscriptions, and gifts within the values and orthodoxy of Focus on the Family.
  • Collaborate on Inventory Management System including purchasing, sku set-up, price models, distribution, maintaining adequate stock levels, and managing the product life cycle effectively.
  • Manage online store and local resource centre, ensuring optimal customer experience and competitive advantage in retail space in online and offline environments.
  • Collaborating with suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing relationships to ensure a steady supply of high-quality products.
  • Support our French ministry, Focus Famille, with tailored product selections.
  • Work with internal teams to enhance online purchasing processes, user experience, and customer satisfaction.

2. Sales, Marketing, and Promotion:

  • Plan and execute impactful product launches, promotional activities, advertising campaigns, and other marketing initiatives to drive sales and increase awareness.
  • Manage the master price list and develop pricing strategies that align with market demand, competitive pricing, and organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement annual sales forecast and marketing plans; monitor and analyze product sales and marketing campaigns to optimize pricing and track margin to meet revenue targets.
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor sales performance, customer behavior, and market trends; use insights to make informed decisions and improvements.
  • Create visually appealing product displays, optimizing shelf space, and strategically placing products to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend best resources for cross-functional activities and specials events.

3. Strategic Planning, Budget Management, and Reporting:

  • Work with senior management on overall product marketing strategies to optimize shopping journey and meet the needs and preferences of target customers and supporters.
  • Manage budgets and provide regular reporting on KPI’s.
  • Analyze data to consistently fill the purchasing funnel and ensure we are reaching the right audiences.
  • Keep a pulse on industry and product trends and stay attuned to customer needs to maximize opportunities.

4. Team Management and Development:

  • Supervise and support the Product Marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and performance management plans.
  • Represent the department in organizational meetings and communicate product-related activities internally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in product management, sales, marketing, or retail management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product purchasing, ecommerce, and promotional campaigns.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Teamwork orientation: ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with Oracle NetSuite and Hubspot is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Merchant Centre is beneficial.
  • Some travel may be required.
