Spend time in prayer:
Heavenly Father,
When we look at our child from the outside, it’s hard to know what’s going on in their heart and how far they really are from you.
We ask that you meet our child wherever they’re at: in their confusion, their disappointment, their hurt and even in their indifference toward you.
Please reveal yourself to them so they begin to take baby steps back to you.
And please continue to show us ways that we can be stepping stones that help our child return to you, rather than barriers that keep them from you.
Amen.
