ABOUT THE POSITION

The Kerith Retreats department plans and coordinates Focus Canada’s Christian retreat ministry. Managers within this team assist with the delivery of seven-day retreat sessions that focus on the renewal and refreshment of Christian ministry couples or singles. Retreats include personalized care, group sessions, and counselling sessions to help attendees deal with spiritual burnout, leadership struggles, relationship and / or personal issues. 

Managers lead attendees in prayer, and Scriptural teaching. They regularly pray privately and with their team members regarding work-related matters. They interact with individuals and groups through various communication methods, and may publicly represent Focus Canada at trade, ministry and non-ministry activities and events. They may lead employees in daily devotions, prayer time and Bible reading, and may occasionally pray publicly as opportunities require.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

To give executive leadership to the Kerith Retreats ministries.

General oversight of Kerith Retreat Ministries

  • Supervises Directors of Kerith retreats
  • Supervises site managers for all Kerith retreat properties
  • Manages the event calendars for all properties, in consultation with the Hope Restored leadership
  • Creates and manages departmental budgets, in consultation with site staff
  • Reports on activities to leadership team and / or the board as requested
  • Oversees all activity within the department
  • Works closely with Marketing on promoting Kerith Retreats
  • Liaises with other departments as needed for promotional and consultive purposes
  • Manages relationship with Sonscape (annual fees)
  • Compiles monthly Focus on Pastors email
  • Oversees Clergycare.ca website
  • Liaison with Clergy Care Advisory Committee (denominational leaders)
  • Contributes pastoral insights to larger Focus team (i.e. Clergy Appreciation initiatives)

ABOUT YOU

  • Masters degree in Theology or similar
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and training
  • Minimum 5 years in senior leadership role
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
  • Detail oriented
  • Articulate communicator both verbal and written
  • Self-starter
  • Willing and able to work as part of team as well as independently
  • Calm, patient demeanor
