ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Manager to lead, modernize and maintain our non-profit organization’s infrastructure.  The IT Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of our hardware, software and IT infrastructure needs; as well as lead a hybrid team of individuals.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of modernizing IT systems, enhancing cybersecurity measures and optimizing technology resources to support our mission, goals and strategic plan.    

Your responsibilities will include:

Strategic Planning & Leadership;

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Provide visionary leadership, guidance and direction to the IT team

IT Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the management, maintenance and enhancement of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and communication systems
  • Identify opportunities to upgrade or replace outdated hardware and software components

Software and Application Management

  • Manage software lifecycle, including acquisition, deployment, updates and licensing compliance
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement software solutions that improve efficiency and productivity across departments

Cybersecurity and Data Protection

  • Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Develop and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure seamless delivery of IT services
  • Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships and monitor service levels

Team Management and Development

  • Build and lead a high performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement
  • Provide mentorship, training and professional development opportunities for team members

Budgeting and Resource Allocation;

  • Develop and manage the IT budget, optimizing resource allocation to meet organizational needs
  • Ensure cost-effective procurement of hardware, software and IT services

Technology Trends and Innovation;

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the non-profit sector
  • Identify opportunities for technology innovation to advance the organization’s mission and vision

Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, PMP, AWS) a definite plus
  • 3 - 5 years proven experience in IT leadership roles, including IT infrastructure management, software development and team management
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and implementing technology solutions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, teambuilding and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt to the needs of a non-profit environment
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite and Hubspot considered an asset
