About the Position

We are currently recruiting for a part-time Manager of Donor Relations to join our Donor Relations team who will manage our fundraising efforts. This role will oversee the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship and our planned giving program. The role requires experience in fundraising and donor development, knowledge of planned giving is an asset. The position is based out of our head office in Langley, BC.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising:

  • With the Donor Relations team, determine overall fundraising campaign strategies.
  • Develop detailed plans that includes the campaign goals, target segments, communication channels and components.
  • Liaise with the appropriate departments to ensure that the campaign plan is followed and is completed on-time.
  • Track and report on all donation responses to help gauge campaign results and effectiveness.

Donor Relationship Development:

  • Manage the donor recognition processes for thank-you letters and receipting. Ensure the organization is thanking and receipting each donor well and in a timely fashion, and that the internal processes are set-up to enable this.
  • Develop our Planned Giving strategy, implement these strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Work to optimize the donor experience online – from identifying what donor-specific content should be online to the functional process of making a donation.

Donor Relationship Management:

  • Compile and analyze donor data to recommend donor strategies and to provide organizational insight.
  • Ensure we accurately track all donor responses in the CRM system. Keep the Constituent Response team up to date with all outbound donor communication so they are prepared for all inbound donor activity.
  • Document and communicate with internal stakeholders about planned giving campaigns and annual receipting, related to the processes and activities that affect donors to ensure that our internal teams and IT systems are equipped and prepared to respond.
  • Generate and prepare the data needed for donor relations reports.

About You

You thrive in a work environment that can be fast-paced with multiple, and often conflicting, deadlines. You love fundraising, connecting with people and learning new things. You have experience in fundraising and are interested in continuing to grow and test your skills in this area. You want to use your fundraising skill set to help families grow stronger, encourage couples to deepen their love and faith, ensure children are raised to love the Lord, and provide practical guidance to those who are in desperate need of hope.

For primary consideration you must bring the following to this role:

  • Post secondary education or professional training in donor relations, fundraising, marketing, business administration or a related discipline
  • 5-7 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, marketing, project management, business analysis or similar
  • Dedication to learning about proven donor relations principles, fundraising techniques and accepted marketing principles
  • Sound knowledge of the function of donor relations, the best practices in fundraising and stewardship, and a solid understanding donor giving cycles.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Skilled in analysis, problem solving, looking for trends in data.
  • Highly attentive to detail and committed to following through on processes and procedures
  • Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; proficient with Windows. Familiarity with a CRM database and/or SQL reporting services would be considered an asset. Must become very familiar with our CRM system.
  • Ability to work with various team members to develop and define processes that will achieve desired outcomes.
