First and foremost, it’s important for you to know that people can and do emerge from depression. Research shows the most effective treatment involves the whole person: emotional, spiritual, physical and mental. In this video, Jennifer Antonsen explains the different ways people can treat depression.

After watching video 3, follow these steps to get the most out of this part of the series:

// Step 1

Read and meditate on this verse: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8)

// Step 2

Answer these discussion questions:

    1. Have you ever considered the value of whole-person treatment for mental health challenges like depression?
    2. Do you believe there is a stigma around using medication to treat depression? How can thinking about it like insulin or antibiotics change your perspective?
    3. Are you honest with God about what you’re really thinking and feeling? Or do you hold back?
