No one - no matter how hurt or broken - is beyond hope.
Letter from Michelle

Dear Focus on the Family,

In the last decade, I have gone through an assault, a very negative pastoral experience, a divorce and a struggle to get back on my feet. I became a single mom on welfare, and some of the fault was my own. I’m not wishing to blame anyone or be a victim. However, I found a good church to attend and slowly started walking with Jesus again. Now I am remarried and finishing up my university degree to help those who can’t help themselves.

Why should you care about any of this? Well because throughout this whole period, Focus on the Family has been there for me, my children and now my new husband too. The broadcasts really encouraged me, my kids love the Odyssey adventures and we all now get the magazines, not to mention the various downloads on your website.

I just wanted to write and tell you that this ministry has and continues to minister to me personally. My life has been enriched by it and the ways that I relate to my family have changed because of it. God has used Focus on the Family to help heal and restore so many things for me that it would be impossible to say it all here.

Simply put, I value your work and it is making a huge difference.

Thank you,

This is consistent with so many stories we hear.

While we’ll never know the full impact of our resources and services, we hear time and time again how God uses them to transform lives. How He uses them in specific moments of need and how He continues to use them over the course of a lifetime. Michelle’s* story is just one example of this:

“We’ve [received] a lot of assistance from different places, but I think these [tools] are the kinds of things we can carry with us for the rest of our lives. Not just a meal or a shirt – those are good things too – but we appreciate that someone cares about us enough to grow together in healthy ways because we didn’t have that model [before].”

This is the heart of our ministry: to help families work through the real–life issues they are facing and help them thrive.
To help parents know they can break the cycle of abuse and pain that exists in their lives. To help children know they deserve to be loved and cared for. To help families come together with God at the centre and find redemption and hope.

But we need your help.

When you donate to Focus on the Family Canada, you ensure these Biblically based tools and resources are available to families like Michelle’s when they need it most:

  • Focus on the Family radio broadcast
  • Focus on the Family magazine
  • Adventures in Odyssey
  • Clubhouse and Clubhouse Jr. magazines
  • Counselling
  • Prayer
  • Online articles
  • Hundreds of resources such as books, DVDs, audio dramas and more

We know that God can take anyone – no matter how hurt or broken – and bring them back into right relationship with Him.

Because no one is beyond hope. And with your help, families experience new life.
